Blakes of Dover is a small hotel with a restaurant and cosy cellar bar. The bar inside Blakes of Dover was the 2006 winner of the CAMRA East Kent Pub of the Year competition. The restaurant on entry level provides a quieter area to enjoy a meal, however, food can be served down in the bar where there is often live music or on sunnier days outside in the patio garden. Blakes of Dover serve a range of real ales as well as Czech larger and German wheat beer, they also serve both local and west country ciders.

One of their main aims is to provide a relaxing atmosphere for customers as well as ensuring customers receive top quality customer service. Brunch offers a wide range of traditional English food including an all-day English breakfast, burgers and pub classics such as scampi and chips. They also have a wide range of coffees and specialty hot chocolates alongside other soft drinks. They also offer a Brunch & Go takeaway service for both hot and cold food and drinks.

Castle Takeaway is a traditional fish and chip restaurant in Dover with over 36 years of experience. All the food is freshly made and they pride themselves on delivering quick but quality service. Although Castle takeaway is a fish and chip shop they offer a wide variety of food including chicken, sausages burgers and full vegetarian menu.


Cider Works

The Cider Works started as a place where the owners of a nearby farm could make their own cider however in branching out their business The Cider Works itself contains a country shop and a licensed restaurant. Open Tuesday to Sunday, The Cider Works offers a seasonal menu created using local produce open for lunch and dinner as well as serving Breakfast 9am to 11am on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The venue is available for private hire for parties and corporate events, they also can provide a Hog roast for these events.


Cullins Yard

Cullins Yard is a restaurant and bar situated in an old converted ship yard in Dover Harbour. Cullins Yard brews their own Ale, hosts a renowned Whiskey selection and specialises in seafood although their menu does cater to a wider range of tastes. Cullins Yard also has a lovely heated conservatory and an outside area with overhead heating which means you can enjoy the seafront views even on slightly chillier nights. On Sunday afternoons there are often live bands playing as well as there being live jazz played every Friday evening. This venue is also available for private hire for weddings and other occasions.

Dino's Italian Restaurant

Dino’s Italian restaurant is the oldest family run Italian restaurant in Dover having been open since 1977, after attracting a local following working at a nearby restaurant the dream for Clara and Dino was to open their own restaurant and so Dino’s was born. At Dino’s they pride themselves on having brought traditional Italian cuisine to Dover, this means using the freshest herbs and seasonal vegetables, some of which are home grown, they use English meat and fresh fish from a local fish market and most importantly for Italian cooking, they us top quality cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. Dino’s is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sunday.


Duke of York Brewers Fayre

The Duke of York is family friendly pub and restaurant run by the Brewer’s Fayre chain. As well as a menu with family favourites, each night there is an all you can eat Chef’s Counter with changing themes. Mondays and Thursdays are curry night, Tuesdays and Fridays are Chip shop theme, Wednesday is burgers and hot dogs, Saturday is Peri Peri night and on Sundays they offer a traditional carvery. The Duke of York also has a function room, outdoor seating, an area called The Den available for children’s parties and a fully supervised, Dennis the Menace themed children’s play area.


Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant at Dover

The Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant in Dover is one of three in the local chain of restaurants which specialise in high quality seafood which is sustainably sourced meaning the specials are dependent on the catch of the day. The pub garden great in the summer as drinks are served from the outside bar. The Bull also offers a good selection of locally sourced, typical pub food.

Kearsney Abbey Tea Room

The Kearsney Abbey Tea Room is a small café located in Kearsney Abbey which is a site offering ten acres of parkland and lakes which is home to a range of wildlife making it a fantastic place for family days out. The Tea Room is open every day of the year from 9 AM closing at 5 PM in the Summer and 3 PM in the Winter. As well as serving afternoon tea, The Kearsney Abbey Tea Room offers breakfast, hot drinks, light lunches and locally produced ice cream.

 


La Salle Verte

La Scala Restaurant

La Scala was established by Francesco Pasquino from Sardinia, in 2001. The restaurant serves classic Italian dishes and is a local favourite serving high quality dishes at reasonable prices. La Scala is welcoming with accommodating staff and owner and the menu is vegetarian friendly. La Scala has been such a success, Francesco has also opened a more casual restaurant in Dover called Il Rustico.

Namaste is a popular, newly opened, Indian restaurant at the Swingate Inn. Namaste aims to provide real native Indian cuisine which may challenge preconceptions of Indian food creating dishes inspired by popular and traditional cuisine from all across India and encourage diners to be adventurous. They also have created some Indo-Chinese dishes which are a fusion of the Orient and the Indian sub-continent. The Allotment is a bistro style restaurant offering locally sourced breakfast to lunch and afternoon tea to evening dinner. They offer a range of dishes including game, meat and fish and try to use Kentish produce, they also have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. There is a small patio dining area at the rear for warmer days and are available for parties of up to thirty-six offering special party menus.

The Olive Tree Restaurant

The Olive Tree is the restaurant in local 4* hotel The Ramada. The Olive Tree provides a peaceful and tranquil dining area serving both traditional English cuisine as well as dishes from all around the world from the A La Carte menu, which also permits children under 12 to eat free. Breakfast is available from 6:30AM everyday closing at 10AM on weekdays and 10:30AM on weekends. On weekdays there is a discounted Lunch Club menu which provides diners with a two course meal for just £7.96 and they have a special Sunday Gala Lunch which comprises a buffet of traditional Sunday lunch, live cooking stations for sushi and tacos, freshly prepared ice cream on a cold stone, live music and children’s entertainment.

The Restaurant offers a breakfast buffet daily from 6:30 to 10:30 AM, Friday Seafood night and on Sundays there is a Sunday Carvery accompanied by the in house pianist. The Café serves Starbucks coffee as well as pastries and a more limited menu. Afternoon tea is also available at the Waterfront restaurant.


White Cliffs Visitor Centre Coffee Shop

The White Cliffs National Trust café has an amazing view of Dover form the outdoor dining area. A cream tea for one is just £3.25 and all scones, cakes and other sweet treats such as flapjacks and shortbread a homemade. They also serve homemade light lunches such as salads, jacket potatoes and warmer dishes in the winter months. Their sandwich fillings are dependent on season as they want to make the most out of local seasonal produce, in fact lots of the ingredients used are from their own on site vegetable patch. They also offer Fair Trade coffee and herbal teas. The National Trust café is a charity which means by enjoying a drink or something to eat during your walk along the cliffs you are helping to preserve them.
